SERVICE / 04

GIS and Geospatial Information Systems

XYZ combines GIS, surveying data, drone imagery, photogrammetry, LiDAR, architectural information, and field observations to reveal the spatial relationships between buildings, infrastructure, land, assets, environmental features, and territories.

Typical client needs

What the assignment may need to resolve.

  • Organize geographically referenced project information
  • Map buildings, roads, infrastructure, land, and verified utilities
  • Create asset inventories and spatial databases
  • Integrate survey, drone, LiDAR, field, CAD, and BIM information
  • Link documents, images, records, and technical data to locations
  • Create interactive maps for internal or public use

XYZ approach

Methods follow the purpose of the information.

01

Define geographic extent, users, decisions, and required outputs

02

Audit available maps, drawings, surveys, databases, and source quality

03

Set coordinate references and georeference source information

04

Create structured layers, attributes, links, and data dictionaries

05

Validate the system and document its limits and update method

Possible deliverables

Outputs shaped around software, standards, and final use.

GIS databases and geodatabases
SHP, GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, and GeoPackage files
Georeferenced rasters and orthophotos
Asset registers and location-based inventories
Interactive maps and web GIS applications
Map books, thematic maps, dashboards, and spatial reports
Data dictionaries and layer-structure documentation
CAD-to-GIS and BIM-to-GIS coordination outputs

Format and availability depend on project requirements, source-data quality, coordinate system, software environment, intended use, and update process.

QUALITY + VERIFICATION

Reliability is defined, reviewed, and communicated.

GIS reliability depends on the accuracy, completeness, coordinate reference, date, and quality of source information. XYZ distinguishes surveyed, client-provided, historical, interpreted, public, approximate, and unverified data.

Questions

Can GIS be connected to BIM and point-cloud data?

Yes. XYZ can geolocate models, coordinate reference systems, prepare selected BIM information as GIS layers, and connect buildings or assets to a wider site or territory.

Are mapped utilities physically verified?

Only when the project includes an appropriate verification method. Otherwise, utility information is clearly labeled according to its source and verification level.

Which GIS platform does XYZ use?

The platform is selected around the client environment and project requirements. Workflows can be prepared for Esri-compatible and QGIS-compatible environments, spatial databases, and web-map services.
